Paul Malnove – Founder and CEO
Paul Malnove was born in Brooklyn, New York and after graduating high school, he went to work as a mail clerk on Park Ave while attending college at night. After his 19th birthday he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and was trained as a bombardier on the 11 person crew of a B-29 bomber. After flight school Paul was sent into combat and stationed on the island of Tinian in the Northern Mariana Islands. Paul was part of the B-29 squadron’s lead crew, and flew a total of 31 missions over enemy territory starting from the beginning of the war and until the war ended. He earned several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters, and was honorably discharged in 1946.
After returning from war, Paul went to work selling houses on Long Island, and then for a Paperboard Card Company. A year later, with a military friend, Paul started his own company out of a warehouse in Brooklyn which manufactured greeting cards for Hallmark and Sears Roebuck. In 1948, he moved to Omaha, Nebraska and started a paperboard packaging company, which is today called Malnove Inc. In the years since its humble beginnings, under Paul’s leadership the company has grown to over 700 employees with manufacturing facilities in Omaha, Salt Lake City and Jacksonville.
Paul learned the true meaning of trust during the war and has carried the importance of trust into his business life. Malnove was built on this foundation and is evident in our values and in the treatment of our Associates and dedication to our customers. Paul's complete commitment to both are evident in Malnove's purpose statement of “Providing Solutions. Protecting Our Family”.
